We are asking God to raise up an army of caring adults who will establish relationships with kids around the area.  Wherever your gifts and talents lie, you can make an eternal difference in a young person's life.   Will you volunteer to make a young person feel listened to, cared for, funny, well-fed, supported and hopeful?
Please contact Kristen at RSVP@FtLauderdaleYFC.org  -- Volunteer Orientation this Thursday, Aug. 29th at 6:30pm at Plantation Community Church.

Here are some ways you can get involved directly with students:

  • CONTACTING - going into the teenage world to initiate new relationships.  (cheering at sporting events, performanes, meeting at the park or Taco Bell to meet new kids).
  • BUILDING TIME - spending time with students to build new relationships and grow existing ones. (hanging out in small groups after school hours to get to know them better).
  • CLUB ON CAMPUS – meeting with a large group of kids in a safe, high energy, non-Christian friendly setting to talk about relevant topics and connect them to God’s truth.
(It's our initial point of contact that allows us to build our relationships with them each week.  During lunch or after school.  Needs the most volunteers).
  • APPOINTMENTS - meeting with kids to focus on their individual needs. (one-on-one with supervision or in a very small group).
  • SMALL GROUPS – meeting with several students to have an interactive discussion about relevant topics and connect them to God’s truth.
(Deeper Life or Bible Study. A regular meeting that answers the hard questions outside of school).
  • CORE TEAM – a team of Christian students with a desire to grow in their relationship with Christ and relationally influence their friends for Jesus
(Similar to First Priority, this is where we would like to partner with First Priority)

Get Started

1.  Fill out our attached YFC volunteer application and send it back to Kristen@ftlauderdaleyfc.org
2.  Become an approved Broward County Public School volunteer:  https://webapp.browardschools.com/sbbc_volunteer/VolunteerForm.aspx
3.  Attend YFC Volunteer Orientation:  This Thursday at 6:30pm at Plantation Community Church.
We will plan another orientation to take place soon for those that can't attend on Thursday.

You can also volunteer to help us share the stories of our students and their needs with others. Telling others about what we're doing is the best way to meet churches, new volunteers, new staff and new donors.  We do this by asking you to invite people you know to come to a SEE THE STORY event.
It's a one-hour introduction to FTL Youth For Christ where they'll hear personal stories of our students and learn the different ways they may choose to become involved in our ministry.   All you need to do is invite 10-15 people to your home or to your church to a SEE THE STORY one-hour event.  You do the inviting and we will bring the stories.

You can donate securely online here:  DONATE ONLINE or by mail to FTL Youth For Christ:  P.O. Box 561101 Miami, FL 33256
We are determined to see deep ministry happen at each school through our fun weekly clubs that lead to small group serious discussions and mentorship that lead to Gospel presentations and long-term discipleship.  Our budget of $220,000 this year covers the small salary of a part-time missionary for each school, food and illustrations for weekly club, small group meetings and Bible studies, practical support for students in need and large events like our summer camp - - for each school.  As well as the new schools we will pioneer in January.

is a one-hour inspiring journey through the mission and passion of Ft. Lauderdale YFC to transform the lives of urban youth, their families and our community.

You'll hear a live testimony of changed life.  You'll hear the specifics of the ministries located in your community.  You'll SEE how you can be involved. This is not a fundraising event.  This is an intimate gathering in which we connect with our community.

    We thrive when we partner.
